HCI held this webinar to discuss the findings of HCI’s latest Summary of HIQA Inspection Findings in Nursing Homes during May to August 2023.
The aim of this webinar is to:
- Identify areas of good practice within HIQA inspection findings.
- Identify and understand the high risk areas trending in HIQA inspection findings.
The key high risk areas trending in the inspection findings are around Governance and Management, Policies and Procedures, Staffing, Training and Staff Development, Records, Protection, Residents Rights, Premises and Fire Precautions.

Lisa McGrane, Best Practice Specialist, HCI
As a Best Practice Specialist, Lisa is responsible for generating Quality and Safety Management frameworks, for national and international health and social care organisations. The frameworks include compliance with regulatory and accreditation bodies, including but not limited to, HIQA, JCI, ISQua and best practice in general.
As part of her role, Lisa also provides information and analysis on current trends, new documentation and inspection reports in relevant areas to support the Quality and Safety expertise. This includes the development of the quarterly Summary of HIQA Inspection Findings in Designated Centres for Older People.
Lisa has over four years of international and national experience working as a Radiation Therapist in both public and private hospitals. In her role as a Radiation Therapist, Lisa gained valuable clinical experience with a focus on implementing new technologies and incident management.
