International Protection Accommodation Services
International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) provide accommodation to people seeking asylum or international protection in Ireland. As IPAS cater to vulnerable populations, it is crucial that you establish a robust Quality and Safety Management System (QSMS) that prioritises residents’ health, safety, and dignity.
This year, HIQA is expected to roll out a monitoring and inspection programme of International Protection Accommodation Services.
With this new monitoring programme, IPAS will be expected to demonstrate compliance with applicable legislation and national standards such as the National Standards for Accommodation offered to people in the protection process. The purpose of IPAS regulation is to ensure that the services provided are high-quality, safe and effective for the service users.
At HCI, we recognise that it can be daunting preparing for a new regulatory framework. As in-house resources and knowledge of regulatory environments may be limited, we are here to help reduce the burden of IPAS regulatory compliance.
How HCI Can Help
HCI works with all types of health and social care providers to develop practical Quality and Safety Management Systems to improve care and satisfy regulatory requirements.
We understand the challenges of preparing your service for regulatory monitoring. We can conduct a Gap Analysis or a Quality-of-Care Audit programme of your service against the National Standards for Accommodation offered to people in the protection process, and other applicable legislation and National Standards.
Our independent auditors will identify areas of good practice and areas of improvement and will support you in preparing actions to address any issues identified. With our support, you can have peace of mind that you have the necessary processes in place to achieve regulatory compliance.
